Halal Used Car Finance UK
Found your next used car? Or still looking? We can help you explore Sharia-compliant finance and the next steps.
Sharia Car Finance is a UK credit broker, not a lender. We currently introduce customers to an Ijara-based vehicle finance option, subject to lender eligibility, dealer and vehicle requirements.
Can you get halal finance for a used car?
Yes, used vehicles can be considered for Sharia-compliant car finance, provided the customer, vehicle and supplying dealer meet the finance provider’s requirements.
SCF currently helps customers explore an Ijara-based arrangement. The lender assesses the application and must accept the proposed vehicle and dealer before the transaction can proceed.
Choose your own car or ask us to search
Already found a used car you like? Send us the make, model, registration or advert link and the dealer’s details.
If you have not found one yet, our free vehicle sourcing service can help search UK motor dealers based on your budget, mileage preferences, specifications and other priorities.
Why the dealership matters
A suitable car is only part of the process. The supplying dealer also needs to meet the relevant finance provider’s requirements.
Our team can liaise with the dealer, request vehicle and business information, coordinate invoices and help progress the transaction. We cannot guarantee that every dealer or car will be accepted.
What should you check before choosing a used vehicle?
Check the vehicle history, advertised mileage, condition, service and MOT records, warranty details and any outstanding finance information.
Ask about dealer charges and confirm what is included in the advertised price. Arrange an independent inspection where appropriate. Finance-provider checks do not replace your own assessment of whether a car suits your needs.
How does Ijara fit into a used-car purchase?
Under an Ijara arrangement the finance provider purchases an approved vehicle and leases it to the customer under the agreed contract.
Rental amounts, customer responsibilities and any route to ownership are specified in the agreement. Review the lender’s actual documentation carefully before deciding to proceed.
From car search to collection
Tell us about the car
Register your interest and discuss the used vehicle or the sort of car you want.
Review options and checks
We can help with vehicle sourcing and dealer coordination while the lender assesses suitability and affordability.
Review and proceed
If an offer is available, review the contractual terms. The vehicle purchase and collection follow completion of the lender’s requirements.
All finance is subject to status, affordability, lender requirements and completion checks. SCF does not guarantee approval, vehicle availability or dealer acceptance.
Halal Used Car Finance FAQs
Can I get halal car finance for a second-hand car?
Used cars may be eligible for the Ijara finance option SCF currently helps arrange. Acceptance depends on the lender’s customer, vehicle and dealer requirements.
Can I find the used car myself?
Yes. You can share a vehicle advert and dealer details with SCF, or ask us to help source options.
Can I buy from any private seller?
Do not assume a private sale can be financed. Our current process is based on suitable UK motor dealers, subject to the lender’s requirements. Ask us before committing to a vehicle.
Is there a minimum or maximum vehicle age or mileage?
Specific vehicle limits depend on the lender and product and can change. We can discuss the details of the car you are considering instead of quoting general thresholds that may not apply.
Does SCF charge for finding a used car?
There is no additional SCF vehicle sourcing fee when arranging your finance through us. SCF also does not charge customers a broker fee for arranging finance.
Can I get approved before choosing a car?
You can register your interest and discuss your circumstances before finding the vehicle. A lender’s decision and completion of finance remain subject to its assessment and an acceptable vehicle and dealer.
Does registering interest affect my credit score?
Registering interest is not itself a finance approval. An initial soft credit search does not affect your credit score. A formal application may involve further checks, which should be explained before proceeding.
Who is responsible for checking the condition of the car?
You should satisfy yourself about the vehicle’s condition and suitability. SCF can assist with information and coordination but does not replace your own checks or an independent inspection.
