Commit A Share Of Profits
We intend to allocate a minimum of 2.5% of our annual net profits to charitable causes and community projects, subject to the company's annual financial results.
Involve Our Customers
In the lead-up to Ramadan, we plan to invite customers to help choose the causes and projects they would like us to support.
Share Our Progress
Our aim is to make contributions during Ramadan and publish details of supported projects, so customers can see how the programme develops.
Why 2.5%?
Inspired by the spirit of giving within Islam.
The 2.5% figure is inspired by the rate commonly associated with Zakat on certain forms of qualifying wealth.
We've chosen it as a meaningful reference point for our planned business giving commitment.
Separate From Zakat
Our proposed allocation of company profits is a voluntary charitable commitment.
It is not intended to represent a formal calculation or payment of Zakat and does not replace any Zakat obligations that may arise.
The actual value of any annual charitable contribution will depend on SCF's net profits and implementation of the programme.
