How Halal Car Finance Works
A clear, supported journey from your first enquiry to collecting your car.
At Sharia Car Finance, we do more than simply introduce you to a finance provider. We’re here to guide you through the process on how halal car finance works, explain what happens at each stage and help make everything as straightforward as possible.
From understanding your budget to checking the vehicle, supporting your application and keeping you updated, our team is here throughout the journey.
1. Tell us what you’re looking for
Start by telling us a little about your circumstances, budget and the kind of vehicle you’re looking for.
We’ll talk you through how halal car finance works, the next steps and carry out an initial soft search to help us understand what options may be available to you.
A soft search does not affect your credit score.
2. Choose your vehicle
Once you know your budget, you can start looking for the right car.
Found something on Auto Trader or through another established UK dealer? Send us the details and we’ll help check whether the dealer and vehicle meet the finance provider’s requirements.
If you haven’t found a car yet, that’s fine too – we can still guide you on what to look for before you commit.
3. We check the dealer and vehicle
Before anything moves forward, we’ll help make sure the dealer and vehicle meet the finance provider’s criteria.
That means you’re not left trying to work out the requirements on your own.
We’ll check the details, let you know if anything further is needed and help keep the process moving.
4. We help you through the application
We’ll go through the application with you, make sure everything is complete and help with any questions along the way. Once it’s ready, we’ll submit it to the finance provider and keep you updated throughout the process.
The finance provider will carry out its own credit and affordability checks in line with its lending criteria.
5. The finance provider purchases the vehicle
If your application is approved and all requirements are met, the finance provider purchases the vehicle as part of the Sharia-compliant finance structure.
We’ll stay involved through this stage too, helping coordinate the process and keeping you informed so you know what’s happening next. The vehicle is then provided to you under the terms of your agreement.
6. Collect your car
Once everything is complete, we’ll help coordinate collection with the dealer.
By this point, you’ll know what to expect, what your agreed payments are and how the finance arrangement works.
The exact ownership and end-of-agreement arrangements depend on the specific Sharia-compliant structure being used and will be clearly explained before you proceed.
Why the structure matters
Sharia-compliant vehicle finance is designed around real trade, ownership and clearly defined contractual arrangements rather than a conventional interest-bearing loan.
The precise structure can vary depending on the finance provider and product.
